Why you should go to Toute la Mer sur un Plateau

1. The Toute la Mer sur un Plateau seafood festival takes place on 28-29 September right on the port of Granville, so you can pretty much eat seafood fresh off the boat!

2. Granville is France’s number one shellfish port, so if anyone can put on a cracking seafood festival, it’s certainly this town.

3. Visitors can expect to see around 16 tonnes of whelks, cockles, scallops, clams, oysters, mussels, prawns, crabs and lobsters on sale over the course of the weekend.

4. Last year, no fewer than 50,000 people flooded into Granville for this popular festival – we reckon that’s an endorsement if any.

5. Live music will be played all weekend on the quays, so why not enjoy a jig to a sea shanty or two with the below view as your backdrop?

6. Also on the festival agenda are cooking demos for both adults and children and, most importantly, TASTINGS.

7. Around the harbour are food stalls and restaurants with terraces, so visitors can dine al fresco and look out over Granville’s picturesque port.
